12 then ministers out of cabinet. 12 ministers resigned from the cabinet, including 5 big names. 5  These are the big names. Ravi Shankar Prasad Kanoon, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Prakash Javedkar, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Babul Supriyo.
It is believed that the reason for the expansion and reshuffle of the cabinet is the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. There are about 15 ministers from Uttar Pradesh in the then cabinet. It has been done only after seeing the caste equation of Uttar Pradesh, these leaders have been given a chance to show good work by bringing them forward.

ऐसा माना जा रहा है मंत्रिमंडल का विस्तार एवं फेरबदल का कारण आगामी आने वाली उत्तर प्रदेश के चुनाव हैं। तत्कालीन मंत्रिमंडल में उत्तर प्रदेश से लगभग 15 मंत्री हें। उत्तर प्रदेश की जाति समीकरण को देखकर ही किया गया है , इन नेताओं को आगे लाकर अच्छे काम करके दिखाने का मौका दिया गया  है।
